The Royal Summer Resort of Qing Dynasty
Chengde Summer Resort is an ancient Chinese imperial palace, the Qing emperors to escape the summer heat and deal with government affairs, located in the north of Chengde City, Hebei Province. It was built in 1703 and took eighty-nine years to complete after the Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong dynasties of the Qing Dynasty. The Summer Palace, the Humble Administrator's Garden and the Liuyuan Garden are also known as the Four Great Gardens of China.
In 1681, in order to strengthen the administration of the Mongolian area and consolidate the northern border defense, the Qing government established the Summer Palace at a distance of 350 km from Beijing. Every autumn, the emperor led tens of thousands of people, including princes, ministers, the army of the eight banners, concubines, and descendants of the imperial family, to the Mulan Paddock. Distribution of attractions
The summer resort is located in a narrow valley on the west bank of the Wulie River, north of the city center of Chengde, and its architecture can be roughly divided into palaces.
