SUMMARY
This program is exceptional for those who only have a little time in Beijing and want to get the most out of their Great Wall experience. This hike starts at the Great Wall of Jiankou, which features some fantastic ruins and scenes of rustic beauty. The movie-set scenery here is what you can conclude. The wall here is in its unrestored state and is quickly becoming famous for photographers and Great Wall enthusiasts alike. Midway through the hike, you'll pass over into the Great Wall at Mutianyu, which might be the most famous section of the Great Wall. "Our family (2 adults & 2 teenage boys) loved this hike! Or guide, Luis, made sure we were in the right places to get pictures of the beautiful views & shared history with us throughout our tour. This hike was perfect for us since we wanted to see the unrestored & restored sections. Booking was easy & they kept in contact with us about hotel arrangements. We were picked up in a nice minivan from our hotel & our delicious dinner was ready when we arrived at the restaurant after our hike. We highly recommend GWAC!"

The day begins at 8:00 AM. We will meet you from your hotel and drive to the Jiankou section of the Great Wall and start hiking to Mutianyu.
The Great Wall at Jiankou is located in the district of Huairou, about 80km/50miles northeast of Beijing. We will start from a village called Xizaizhi at the bottom of Jiankou Great Wall, where we will climb up a path for about 60 minutes to reach Zhengbeilou, the first watchtower we will meet. Our hike will today take about 4 hours and will cover 10km/ 6 miles.
The Jiankou section is known for its ruggedness and wild beauty, and you will be in awe of the marvelous views it affords. As soon as we reach Jiankou, we will see a deserted watchtower that gives you a panoramic view of the entire valley. In the early morning, the view is priceless with its morning fog. This section of the Wall is not well known by tourists, although if you see a picture of the Great Wall from exotic traveling magazines, chances are it is from Jiankou. It is the pinnacle of exotic Great Wall scenery. This part of the Wall is often empty so that you will have some peace and serenity on your hike today. Although small trees and brambles are slowly conquering the majestic Wall, the view from the top is still stunning!
From Jiankou, we will cross over onto Mutianyu, a section of the Wall that has been largely restored. Although it has gotten a face-lift, it avoids the army of tourists that plague Badaling. Mutianyu offers some breathtaking views of the valley. Mutianyuguan has been a military hub to guard Beijing since ancient times. Since ancient times, it has been known as one of the important gates of the northern barrier that guards the capital and the imperial tomb. In Mutianyu Great Wall, there are low wall crenels on both sides of the top of the wall, which can resist the enemy on both sides, and there are also horse-blocking pits excavated on the outside to make the defense function more perfect. This is a major feature among all the Great Wall sections.
Mutianyu has also become famous for visiting foreign leaders and celebrities.
You can hike down to the parking lot, take a cable car, or take a toboggan ride (highly recommended, and lots of fun!) down to meet our driver. We will then drive back to Beijing and drop you off at your hotel.
Going up to the peak at Jiankou for the truly breathtaking scenery, tackling the steep staircase, hike onto Mutianyu.
And, do it during the sunset!
Hike from the traditional and WWII battlefield Gubeikou to the iconic Great Wall at Jinshanling for 10 kms.
Catch the sunrise and sunset on the Great Wall by sleeping in an ancient watchtower.

Jiankou, where the Great Wall is situated in a mountainous position, hovering between the cliffs, like a giant dragon that leaps and falls with the mountains, and is spectacular. The enemy buildings were built on treacherous mountainous terrain, with a varied and rhythmic course. The Arrow buckles Great Wall is named because the entire section of the Great Wall meanders in the shape of a W, shaped like a full bow buckle arrow. The Arrow buckle this name can be said to be one of the most imaginative Great Wall place name. It is enough to make all the Great Wall place names in words Ling, Guan, Yu, Tai, and so on all overshadowed.
